Black Zero Code

Saturn Version: At the character select screen, put in the following code with the cursor on Zero: Hold R, press right six times, release R, press and hold B, press start while holding B. Zero should now be black and white instead of red and white in the stages. Apparently there are no real differences in performance between the two armors, despite previous rumors

Playstation version: Highlight Zero at the player selection screen. Hold R1 and press Right 6 times. Release all buttons, then hold Circle and press Start. For the Japanese version, hold R1 and press Right(6). Release all buttons, then hold X and press Start.

Maverick Strategies

Frost Walrus: Climb the walls, and when he comes sliding along to the wall you are on, jump off and slash him. When he launches ice spikes at you, just slash them. Also, the Rising Flame Sword will burn him.

Jet Stingray, jump up and use you Ice Lance attack on him. This works best with the Double-Jump. Slash any fish he launches out. When he comes underwater, and makes a water whirl, just dash away form him until he comes to you, then Ice Lance him.

Slash Beast: Air Dash above him when he on the ground, and below him when he is in the air. The Command Cancel Z-Saber will slash through his flip slashes. Also, the Lightning Special does good damage against him.

Web Spider: Use the Rising Flame on him, as it does good damage. Double Jump over his web attacks. The Spin Attack and the Rising Flame Sword work well.

Cyber Peacock: The Rising Flame Sword will disrupt him, causing him to teleport away. Keep moving to avoid his teleporting on top of you.

Split Mushroom: Use the Lightning Special on his soul body style clones to destroy them, and also to electrify him. If you time it right, the Lightning Special will destroy all of his clones and hit him as well, causing to jump to the opposite wall and start over again.

Storm Owl: Use the Giga Attack on him, particularly when he is coming in close to you or when he is about to do his cyclone attack. The closer he is to you, the more damage the Giga Attack will do, because more of the projectiles will hit him.

Magma Dragoon: Try using the Mid-Dash attack on him, as well as the Lightning Special. Double Jump over him when he gets ready to do his huge flame blast, and Lightning Special him, as it will hit him twice, which it will not do for any other boss.

Colonel: Jump over his blasts, and his slashes. When he goes to the middle to do his energy breaker attack, jump over the green electricity on the ground and slash him, or use the Ice Lance.

Iris: Attack her and her drones with the Rising Flame sword until the purple crystal appears. Attack it with anything you can, particularly the Rising Flame Sword, and the Double Jump Spin Attack when it's above you. When it goes below you for her plasma shots, use the Ice Lance on it. Dodge her plasma shots, and try to keep the crystal away from the wall until it become stationary on the ground, then climb the wall.

General: Stay on the wall, and when he comes toward you, jump off, Air Dash above him, and slash him with the Z-Saber. It is easier to not climb his hands, as his energy shots can hurt you easily, but it is slower, too. Dodge his sextet of energy attacks, which he'll begin using at about half life.

Sigma:
Form 1: Use the Rising Flame Sword on him twice, then climb the wall, and Air Dash or Double Jump over his charge.
Form 2: Double Jump over his spinning scythe attack, and slash him. Then jump on the wall so that he throws his scythe to the wall. Slash him after you jump of the wall. Double Jump over him to the other wall. Then wait for him to finish his laser blasts. Repeat.
Form 3: Use the Rising Flame sword on any of the three robot heads. Double Jump Spin attack the big body form on the right side, and use the Lightning Special or the Z-Saber on the huge head on the left. Dash away from the spikes if the head tries to blow you into them, and if it tries to suck you in, start nailing it.

 

Locations of the Hearts

Magma Dragoon: Use the Lightning Web to reach a cliff to the left when you see the falling meteor-like rocks in area 2. Use the Double Jump.

Frost Walrus: Use the Rising Flame Sword to break the block in the ceiling of the first part of area 1.

Jet Stingray: In area 1, don't jump over the third pit and you'll land on the platform holding the Heart.

Slash Beast: In area 2, get in the Ridden armor and punch the second car you come to after you get the armor to reveal the Heart.

Web Spider: Use Rising Flame Sword to burn the second tree-trunk looking block in area 2.

Split Mushroom: In the second part of area 2, you have to quickly jump on top of the falling section and then jump over to the

Heart. The Double Jump is helpful.

Cyber Peacock: Get an "S" in area 1, section 2.

Storm Owl: Get it off of the first platform in area 1 before the beam destroys the platform it's on. It's easier if you don't have the armor on when you go after the Heart.

 

Locations of the Tanks

Energy Tank 1: Stores extra life energy, as a sub-tank did in earlier Mega Man X games.
- Get an "S" rating in area 1, section 3 of Cyberspace.

Energy Tank 2: Stores extra life energy, as a sub-tank did in earlier Mega Man X games.
- Get from behind some blocks in area 2 of the Marine Base.

Weapon Tank: Basically, a sub-tank for weapon energy.
- Get in area 2 of the Snow Base. It is hidden in an ice block toward the end, and at the top section of the ice blocks

EX-Item: Allows Zero to start with 4 lives, instead of two, when continuing.
- Get in area 1 of the Snow Base. After the ice slopes that head to the right, get on the rightmost wall, and scale up. Use the Double Jump to get it.
